Overview

Rykneld Homes was set up in 2007 as a non-profit organisation, responsible for the management, maintenance and improvement of around 7,600 properties and neighbourhoods on behalf of North East Derbyshire District Council.

Sellick Partnership is a specialist housing and property services recruitment agency, and has worked with Rykneld Homes providing recruitment support across permanent contracts for the last three years. We have supported with the recruitment of many housing and property jobs including (but not limited to): Regeneration Project Manager, Asset and Sustainability Manager, Capital Works Supervisor, Technical Surveyor, Damp and Mould Surveyor, Voids Supervisor, Rents Administrator, multi-trades roles, as well as corporate roles including Procurement and Supply Chain Manager and Management Accountant.

Account Manager

Josh Meek, Manager, is the recruitment partner for Rykneld Homes. Josh specialises in Housing & Property Services recruitment across the Midlands and has a well-developed network of candidates within the local area. Recruitment is managed in partnership with the HR Manager, and Josh meets with Rykneld quarterly to share market insight and to discuss key requirements, forecasted pipeline and critical projects.

Our approach

For some vacancies the key challenge was competition from the private sector for candidates with the requisite qualifications and skills. Josh drew on his understanding of Rykneld, their culture, positive staff retention, work life balance and benefits to promote Ryneld’s opportunities to candidates over private sector roles.

The Surveyor roles were challenging positions with limited candidate pools available. To resource these Josh undertook extensive headhunting and market mapping to proactively approach candidates with the required skills and qualifications and engage them with Rykneld’s opportunities.
