Senior Surveyor

North West (Wigan area)

We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the North West for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join their Asset Management team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a property professional to take on a varied, strategic role helping manage and optimise a significant public sector estate.

The Senior Surveyor will lead on property disposals, acquisitions, valuations, and estate management-ensuring assets are used efficiently, legally, and in line with long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Surveyor:

  • Manage the disposal of surplus land and buildings
  • Support the acquisition of sites for new schemes and developments
  • Provide valuations for capital and revenue accounting
  • Oversee the commercial and non-commercial property portfolio
  • Review property use and identify development opportunities
  • Supervise a junior surveyor and liaise with internal departments and external partners
  • Contribute to asset planning, service improvements, and policy development

Requirements of the Senior Surveyor:

  • Solid background in estates, property, or valuation (public sector experience an advantage)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
