Overview of the Senior Actuarial Consultant role

Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with a well-regarded consultancy who are looking to recruit a Senior Actuarial Consultant into their Manchester-based team.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced pensions actuary to take on a key role supporting a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality advice and contributing to the development of actuarial policy and best practice.

The role would suit a qualified actuary who is confident working closely with clients and contributing to complex technical projects.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Actuarial Consultant will include

  • Supporting the development and application of actuarial policies across valuations, reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Acting as a lead or supporting actuary across a portfolio of pension schemes
  • Providing advice to clients on funding, investment and legislative matters
  • Reviewing calculations, reports and technical outputs to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Ensuring work is delivered in line with professional standards and regulatory expectations

Required experience/qualifications of the Senior Actuarial Consultant will include

  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or equivalent
  • Significant experience within pensions actuarial consulting
  • Strong understanding of occupational pension schemes and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
