Sellick Partnership are working with a prominent UK Top 100 law firm who are looking for a Residential Property Solicitor to join their team in Manchester City Centre.

ROLE PURPOSE


To support the Residential Conveyancing team in the delivery of exceptional client service on a full range of matters including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Working with the Partners and fee earners within the Residential Conveyancing team to support the matter lifecycle for private residential conveyancing matters, this role will include regular client and third-party contact as well as:

  • * Obtaining client ID and assisting in the preparation of engagement documentation
  • * Coordinating property searches
  • * Drafting mortgage reports
  • * Drafting search reports
  • * Obtaining title documents from the Land Registry
  • * Compiling and issuing draft contract packs
  • * Requesting redemption statements
  • * Drafting SDLT forms
  • * Managing completion including preparing completion statements
  • * Assisting with replies to enquires from purchasers' solicitors
  • * Preparing accounts forms and supporting invoicing
  • * Making applications to the Land Registry post completion
  • * Managing matter administration, including:
  • * Following up quotes
  • * File openings, closures, and archiving
  • * Accurate data entry for property sale/purchase information on to the case management system
  • * Scanning post and allocating to relevant file and Fee Earner
  • * Accurate photocopying and binding of documents
  • * Updating lender portals
  • * Secure storage and management/retrieval of original documentation
  • * Arranging meetings and organising team diaries

KEY ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS


This role requires an organised individual with strong accuracy and attention to detail, as well as ideally experience in a residential conveyancing role.

In addition to this, the successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work under their own initiative, as well as demonstrating:

  • Effective use of case management systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident with both written and telephone contact
  • Experience working to challenging timescales with the ability to plan and organise effectively, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Efficient administration skills
  • Pro-activity, enthusiasm, and commitment
  • Proficient us of Microsoft office and other IT packages
  • Experience handling a residential conveyancing caseload (desirable but not essential)
