An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior or senior corporate Lawyer to join a well established Public sector Organisation on a permanent basis. My client is looking for a passionate individual who has prior knowledge of Commercial Contracts, with previous drafting and negotiating experience applicable in a large scope of circumstances.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure to interesting public sector matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Contracts and Procurement in providing an

effective Corporate Law function, providing your business

partners with the support and advice they require timeously and

efficiently;

  • provide legal advice on contracts and procurement in

compliance with legislation;

  • assist the Head of Contracts and Procurement in creating and

implementing a corporate law business plan for each financial

year, developing priorities and managing risk;

  • work agilely and support other members of the Corporate Law

and Regulatory Compliance team to provide an excellent

service to colleagues across the organisation;

  • maintain a high level of organisation and ensuring record

keeping is to an excellent standard;

  • work well under pressure and with light touch supervision and

ability to plan and organise own work.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A qualified solicitor or barrister / Equivalent - 1 year PQE +
  • Knowledge of Commercial Contracts and Procurement
  • Experience of Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts
  • Experience of advising on public sector procurement exercises and contracts
  • Excellent communication skills to deal with clients and parties from a variety of backgrounds
  • Experience of a busy Commercial / litigation caseload, with considerable autonomy
  • A good drafting and written ability
  • Experience of providing employment law advice (Desirable)
  • Experience of managing litigation and/or disputes (Desirable)
