Overview of the Pensions Actuarial Consultant role

Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with a leading consultancy who are looking to recruit a Pensions Actuarial Consultant into their established London-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded actuarial function, supporting a varied portfolio of pension scheme clients and delivering high-quality advice across a range of projects.

This role would suit an actuarial professional with experience in pensions consulting who is looking to further develop their technical expertise while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities of the Pensions Actuarial Consultant will include

  • Supporting actuarial valuations and pension scheme funding work
  • Providing advice on scheme funding, risk management and de-risking strategies
  • Assisting with bulk annuity transactions, including buy-ins and buy-outs
  • Preparing reports, calculations and client deliverables
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with trustees and clients
  • Supporting senior consultants across a range of actuarial projects

Required experience/qualifications of the Pensions Actuarial Consultant will include

  • Experience within pensions actuarial consulting
  • Strong understanding of defined benefit pension schemes
  • Progress towards actuarial qualifications is desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
