A well-regarded local authority in London is seeking an experienced Director of Law and Governance to join them on an interim basis in January for a period of 3 months.
To be considered, you must have experience in a senior leadership role in local government, including serving as a (Deputy) Monitoring Officer.
In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for leading our legal and governance services, overseeing a high-performing team that includes legal services, committee services, elections, land charges, coroner services, member support, the mayoralty office, and information services.
The Interim Director of Law and Governance will support and advise elected members and officers on complex, high-profile matters that span planning, capital programs, workforce change, new legislation, and implementing the Grenfell Tower Inquiry recommendations.
Reporting to the Executive Director for Corporate Services, this Interim Director of Law and Governance position offers the chance to contribute to an ambitious and influential London borough.
