We are currently working with a Top-tier Legal 500 ranked firm in Birmingham that is looking for an Employment Associate to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning and supportive firm.
Your responsibilities will include:
Advise on day-to-day employment matters, disputes, and contracts, as well as support corporate deals with employment law input.
Build strong relationships with clients and play an active role in managing ongoing matters.
Take the lead on more complex cases, including tribunal work or senior-level advisory projects.
Support junior team members by sharing knowledge and helping them develop their skills.
Get involved in client development and marketing activities, sometimes leading on smaller initiatives.
Work closely with colleagues across the firm's wider People & Reward team, including specialists in immigration and pensions.
Take part in regular training, coaching, and development opportunities to grow your expertise and progress your career.
The successful candidate:
7+ years PQE in employment law.
Strong background advising employer clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Experience handling complex employment litigation, including Employment Tribunal and High Court claims.
Excellent client relationship management skills, with a commercial and solution-focused approach.
Confidence in supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members.
Willingness to take part in business development activities, including pitching, networking, and thought leadership.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport internally and externally.
Organised, proactive, and able to manage a busy and varied workload with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working as part of a collaborative national team.
