We are currently working with a Top-tier Legal 500 ranked firm in Bristol that is looking for an Employment Legal Director/Partner to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning and supportive firm, and they are seeking someone with outstanding technical expertise, strong leadership, and business development skills, who is eager to build and lead a team within their vibrant and growing office.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop the employment law team, contributing to the overall growth of the practice.

  • Advise on a wide range of employment law matters, including both contentious and non-contentious work.

  • Drive business development and play a key role in winning new work and expanding the client base.

  • Represent the firm at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, supporting their professional growth.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and offices to deliver seamless client service.

  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the employment law practice.

The successful candidate:

  • Qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience in employment law (typically 7+ years PQE).

  • Strong technical expertise in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Demonstrated experience in business development and winning new work.

  • Leadership experience, with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop junior lawyers.

  • Commercially aware with a strategic mindset and the ability to contribute to practice growth.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with clients and internal teams.

  • Able to work collaboratively across departments and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
