Overview of the Actuary role

Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with a well-established consultancy who are looking to recruit an experienced Actuary into their Leeds-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse client base, providing specialist advice on Defined Benefit pension schemes while supporting a range of strategic projects.

The role would suit a qualified actuary who is confident managing relationships and delivering high-quality technical advice.

Key responsibilities of the Actuary will include

  • Acting as a key contact for clients, providing clear and practical actuarial advice
  • Supporting senior stakeholders in maintaining and developing client relationships
  • Attending client meetings, presenting findings and recommendations
  • Reviewing actuarial calculations, reports and outputs
  • Identifying risks and opportunities across client portfolios

Required experience/qualifications of the Actuary will include

  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or equivalent
  • Strong experience working with Defined Benefit pension schemes
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience supporting delivery across multiple workstreams
